We're happy to announce the immediate availability of InData 8.1.9 beta 1 for Adobe InDesign CS6. We're looking forward to seeing the layouts folks come up with by combining InData with CS6's new Liquid Layout and Alternate Layout features.

You can download the beta from the sidebar on the right or from the beta sidebar on the main product page . When you download and expand the linked .zip file, you'll find a folder InData 8.1.9b1 for InDesign CS6, containing the Adobe Extension Manager CS6 installation files for InData 8.1.9b1 and InFlow 8.2.2b1 for your selected OS (indata819b1_installer_win.zxp and inflow822b1_installer_win.zxp for Windows, and indata819b1_installer_mac.zxp and inflow822b1_installer_mac.zxp for Mac OS). Double-click on each .zxp file to installInData 8 and, optionally, InFlow 8 (which you may no longer need, given CS6's new Primary Text Frame feature).

If you already own a license for InData 7 (beginning 'ED-N-7') for CS5/CS5.5, then this same license will also activate InData 8 during its beta phase. If you've an older license or are in need of a new license, please contact our sales department to purchase a license for InData 8. As always, you're welcome to try InData 8 for free as a Demo, which limits imports to 50 records.

• Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 3 or Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. Adobe® Creative Suite® 5.5 and CS6 applications also support Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. See the CS6 FAQ for more information about Windows 8 support. 1 GB of RAM (2 GB recommended).

We expect InData 8.1.9b1 to be stable and usable right out of the gate. We hope to have a final release available fairly soon.

Adobe and Microsoft have worked together to test Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite 6 applications for reliability, performance, and user experience when installed on Intel-based systems running Microsoft Windows 8.1. Currently there are no known issues. Adobe Photoshop CS5, CS4, and CS3 were also tested with Windows 8.1, and currently there are no known major issues.

As with any new release of an operating system, unexpected issues could arise that were not discovered during testing. If you encounter any issues, report them using the bug reporting form.

At this time, only Adobe Flash Pro CC, build 13.0.0.759, requires an update for compatibility with Windows 8.1. All other versions of Adobe Flash Pro are supported.

If updates for Windows 8.1 compatibility with Creative Cloud or Creative Suite products are required in the future, the updates will be made available in the following ways:

• Active Creative Cloud members receive updates. You are notified of any updates via the Creative Cloud desktop application or through the application itself.
• Updates will be made through the Adobe Updater (Adobe CS6 products and earlier) or Creative Cloud desktop app (Adobe CC products and later). As long you have the automated notification feature in Adobe Updater turned on, you are alerted automatically when the updates become available. You can then follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the updates.
• Alternatively, if you own a CS6 product that requires an update, you can open the CS6 product and choose Help > Updates to open the Adobe Updater. Select all the updates you want, and then click Download and Install Updates.
• Lastly, you can also visit the downloads page on Adobe.com to monitor when updates are posted. Then, you can download and install the updates for each relevant product.

If you don't see updates available in Adobe Updater but you believe that an update is available, take the following steps:

Launch a CS6 application and choose Help > Updates.

When attempting to install an Adobe Creative Cloud application on Windows 8.1 using Internet Explorer 11, you could encounter a plug-in warning. Adobe has found no other significant issues with running CC, CS6, or Acrobat products with Windows 8.1.
